To promote environmental conservation, the bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura-Yambio, Barani Hiiboro on 3rd, September 2024 initiated a tree planting project at St. Joseph Church in Maingbangaru.

The initiative is part of a broader campaign to raise awareness about environmental issues and to encourage the local community to engage in sustainable practices.

Bishop Hiiboro emphasized the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and combating climate change.

The selection of mahogany trees is particularly significant, as they are known for their durability and ecological benefits.

This tree-planting initiative is expected to be the first of many such projects in the diocese, as Bishop Hiiboro aims to implement additional conservation efforts in the coming months. Through collaboration and dedication, the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio is taking significant steps toward fostering a healthier and more sustainable environment for all.
