As preparations for the Centenary celebration in Mopoi intensified, the Finder Road Advance Team met and formed a task force committee in Ezo on Sunday, 3rd November 2024, to discuss key aspects of the upcoming road repair along the Ezo-Source Yubu road.
The committee addressed several critical issues related to road repairs, such as the pothole accumulation, the work plan, and the availability of tools, and food supplies, all of which require financial support. Top points discussed during the meeting included a two-month time frame for the repairs, community readiness, and the organization of work by village and community along the route.
The meeting concluded with a scheduled launch of the Finder Road repair set for Monday, 11th November 2024. This timeline puts the task force in active mobilization mode, gathering tools and food supplies, and informing the community about the commencement date.
According to the committee in Ezo, the community is fully prepared to support the project to ensure accessible routes to and from Rii-Yubu ahead of the Centenary celebration of the Legion Maria. Chairperson Ceasor Daudau highlighted the need for mobilizing local resources and allocating work areas, stressing that the effort involves all community members—youth, women, men, and school children.
The Executive Director of Ezo County praised the initiative, emphasizing the county authority’s support and commitment to working with the Diocese to prepare the road. He assured the community that the county government would provide security to ensure the safety of all participants.
This initiative follows the call from Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio, urging for voluntary work on Finder Road ahead of the December Centenary celebration in Mopoi.
