Andrea Miniala Wins Election as the Azande New Leader in Juba

The Azannde community organization (ACO) in Juba elects Andrea Miniala Babonguma as new leader in a peaceful democratic excerse in an event held on Sunday 17th November 2024 at Nazereth ECSS Church in Juba.

Andrea won the vote with 270 votes surpassing his counterpart Mr. Charles Kisanga who got 107 votes from among the 392 voters who were in attendence.

Hon. Miniala took over from Clement Philimona Baime who has served the Azande community in Juba for 10 years.

The Azande community living in Juba capital of South Sudan gathered to cast their votes for their leader to lead them with an aim to foster unity and strengthen the Azande community living in Juba.

The executive committee who were elected includes Hon. Modi Mbaraza who was elected unopposed will serve as the deputy chairperson of the Azande community in Juba and Mr.Gimigu Alfred as the Secretary General .

Speaking at the event, Rt. Hon. Speaker of the National Legislative Assembly; Jama Nunu Kumba acknowledged the profound impact of the previous leadership for fostering unity among    the Azande community, urging the new leadership to embrace unity in order to work for the positive outcomes by addressing community issues stressing that through hard work and loving one another can bring development.

 For his part, Angelo Beda   one of the oldest elderly persons among the Zande community living in Juba noted that the new leadership needs to work for unity despite challenges they might be facing in the process citing commitment matters and patient is required to accomplish certain goals.

The event brought together elders of the Azande community living Juba including those working in the national government and the Church leaders.

Bishop of the catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio, Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala blessed and closed the occasion with a profound message of unity and of loving one another as community, urging the Azande community to prioritize God at the center of the everything to help the Kingdom of the Azande through productive activities.
