Two young South Sudanese abandoned their well-paying jobs, one with USAID and together they decided to start up a joint company. Driven by the desire to create job opportunities for their fellow young South Sudanese, the proprietors of JARO Company limited had witnessed the plights of their young fellow citizens scrambling for fewer job opportunities at some of the NGOs.

Payo Charles Arona and Joseph Happy Nzeremeko, therefore, decided to form a multi-initiative company that they hoped the world respond to the plights of young South Sudanese who lack employment. The project that in five years’ time, they will be able to have created job opportunities for thousands of young people in the country.

“JARO Limited is a company that the two of us have formed. The name JARO is derived from our names J for Joseph and ARO for Arona, which is my sir name,” explained Charles Payo Arona. They deal with logistics and general supply of food and non-food items, they also deal in real estate (buying & selling of land as well as rent), apart from that they are also into agriculture and charter flights.

“When we talk of air charter there are several of them, there is one, two, five, six-point five, and nine metric tons. About trucks, there are those of different capacities e.g. 5, 10, 20, and 40-ton truck. The small ones are also available such as land cruiser which can take up to three tons,” explained Joseph Nzeremeko.

The two young proprietors who were sought blessings and advice from Barani Edwardo Hiiboro, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio met with him in Juba last week and shared with him about their plans and activities.

Impressed by their bold initiatives, Bishop Hiiboro said that the two young men exhibit an exemplary example to other young people especially those in colleges that they should aspire to be job creators rather than job seekers.

“I as Bishop I like this kind of initiative and I congratulate and encourage them to maintain the spirit so that JARO Limited remains an example to be emulated by many. JARO Limited has the potential to become a means to connect the country through the services these two young men have initiated and we applaud them for proving that young people can believe in themselves in order to build this nation.”

Bishop Hiiboro said that he is praying for the best for Charles and Joseph so that they can further and do their job ethically while promoting and enhancing the lives of people.
