Bishop Hiiboro Lays Foundation for Stone a Parish House and a Kindergarten School at St. Lucy Mission Mambe

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala has laid the foundation stones for the construction of a parish house and kindergartens school at St. Lucy Catholic Mission, Mambe in the Eastern Deanery of the diocese.

Speaking during the event, Bishop Hiiboro underscored the importance of Education citing that it is the only way to move ahead in every aspect of life. He, therefore, urged the parishioners and the host community to embrace education by taking their children to school.

The Bishop advised the residents of Mambe to be hardworking people in order to be self-supporting and consequently be able to eradicate poverty. He also challenged the youth to embrace work and make changes in society.

Residents who spoke to the diocesan journalist during the event applauded the move by the Bishop to promote the construction of more learning institutions in the diocese saying that it is a good initiative that will certainly improve the education of the children in the area.

Women representatives Mrs. Mary Angelo expressed that the availability of kindergarten schools in the area will enable more children to participate in the learning process. She urged the church leaders to fully prioritize the initiative because most of the children in the area currently have no learning facilities. This is has been due to the conflicts which erupted in the country way back in 2016 in South Sudan.

She further said that the presence of Catholic schools in the area is very vital.

The head chief in Mambe David Jonathan expressed interest in working hand in hand with the Church leaders and community members to ensure that the project becomes a success. Among other people present during the event were government representatives.
