Bishop Hiiboro opens Maternity Clinic at St. Theresa hospital in Nzara.

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio His Lordship Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala on Saturday 29th May 2021 blessed and open the maternity clinic in Nzara together with a blood bank facility.

Speaking during the blessing of the new wing of the hospital, Bishop Hiiboro disclosed that the opening of the clinic is a relief for expectant mothers who can now be assured of safe delivery in a hospital where both the child and the mother will be well taken care of.

The Bishop advised the hospital staff to create more awareness of the working procedures among the community members in Nzara so that there are no misunderstandings and conflicts between the staff and the citizens.

He called upon the community members in Nzara to own the hospital for good service delivery regardless of it being a church intuition.

He also assured the young people that the diocese is working hard to create conducive learning intuition as it hopes to open a nursing school soon.

The Bishop, therefore, called upon willing partners to supports the project citing he has seen the necessity of opening a nursing school in the area. Bishop Hiiboro also called for collaboration with the county authority in order to work together for the betterment of the people and development in Western Equatoria.

Speaking on the same occasion, Dr. Mustapha, a

senior staff at the hospital who gave a briefing about the intended activities at the new hospital wing said that the intuition will ensure mothers have safe delivery as surgical intervention shall be one of the activities they will be rendering adding that they will priorities the safety of mothers while giving birth.

He added that they will have antenatal services for the frequent observations of mothers before their delivery.

Catholic Medical Mission Board representative Mr. Benson Wakoli reiterated his commitments to supporting the hospital where necessary.
