Speaking during his visit to the Army Barracks of SSPDF Division six in Maridi county of Western Equatoria State, where he presented food and other items to soldiers, Governor Alfred Futuyo Karaba called upon soldiers from both sides to work together as a team to promote peace and security in the whole state.
He asked soldiers, as a way of opening up to each other, to be free to visit each other, to create a bound which will highly help in terms of improving the security of the state.
Speaking on behalf of the soldiers, the Commander of Division six, Jordon Otim said that delay of salary, lack of transport, health facilities, and starvation are the main challenges they are facing daily as they strive to do their work.
The commander, therefore, requested the governor to look into those challenges as he promises him that the relationship between SSPDF and civilians will remain cordial. He cautioned soldiers against violating the rights of the civilians as this will result in serious consequences.
Among the other items donated by the governor included soaps, cooking oil, sacks of beans, and salt.
