His Lordship Barani Edwardo Hiiboro Kussala on Monday evening officially inaugurated the awaited power energy to run the diocesan own radio station which had encountered a lack of power for so long.

The inauguration of the installed ninety solar panels was highly welcomed by the community members including community leaders who believed that the installed power system will now enable the flow of credible information on the radio station which the community had been lacing due to inconsistency on air.

The solar panels were donated by the Mizerrio a German Catholic Church-based institution.

While addressing community members and staff, bishop Edwardo described the radio station as a mouthpiece in addressing and educating mass to follow the right path of living. According to the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tambura Yambio, Anisa radio station was established with the sole objective of evangelization.

“At the time the diocese established this radio station things in the market were low, we could afford to buy diesel to run the station, gradually the economy began to go down, so the radio could not be constantly on air again due to the situation,” he said.

Bishop Hiiboro believed that with the new source of power, the station will now revive its programming based on the interest of the community and the diocese.

“This radio station is for everyone; it is not only for the Catholics. The Anisa means we are one. The diocese has also opened the door for the government to use the radio when it has an educative message to pass to the public”. Hiiboro added.

Anisa radio veteran listeners at the inauguration ceremony welcomed the development and say the radio will fill the gap of timely information to the public because of its consistency on air.

Muze Abdalla a keen listener of Anisa radio, applauded the new development and stated that radio contributes a lot to reforming people’s negative behaviors.

“When I switched my radio set and got the information that Anisa’s radio is now running 24 hours a week, I was overwhelmed with joy and couldn’t know what to say, because this radio state does help us a lot in transforming our lives”. Abdalla stated

On the hand, the acting paramount chief of Yambio, Edward Mumbasa Ermineo, underscored that Anisa radio will as help to tackle cultural issues to enable the current generation to know more about their culture.

“I remember the bishop through the administration of Anisa radio station did allocate days for the programs of the kingdom to run on the radio, but this did not take effect due to the inconsistency of the station on air by then, however, with this new power, we shall activate the kingdom’s program”, said Chief Mumbasa.
