Senior candidates from three different secondary schools in Yambio gathered in the morning of Tuesday 11th, 2023 at Bishop Abangite College of Science and Technology to start writing mock examinations. Mock exams are essentially where students mimic the real exams as closely as possible.

The three schools include; Bishop Abangite, Kings College, and Maingbangaru minor seminary.

Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Migidi, the principal of Abangite, while addressing the students stated that the exams are meant to test the capability of students, the exams will help teachers find out student’s weaknesses in order to provide a way forward to improve performance for the upcoming national examination.

He added joint mock exams help students to exercise their strengths and weaknesses in order for teachers to correct the weaknesses after the mock exams.

The mock examination is an examination, usually internally set and marked, which is designed to give candidates experience of the examination process, as well as to identify areas of weakness in their knowledge and understanding which they need to improve before sitting the examination properly.

The South Sudan National Ministry of General Education and Instruction is set to conduct the 2023 Certificate of Secondary Education Examination across the country in December 2023.
