The Catholic Bishop of Tombura-Yambio, Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala in his Sunday message at St. Mary Mother of God, Yambio Parish called on politicians from different political parties which include the SPLM-IG, SPLM-IO, SSOA, OPP as well as FDs to put aside their different political agenda and work together towards making South Sudan a peaceful nation that the people yearns for.

“When you politicians are united for the common interest of the citizens of this country, the people are happier. The Church feels happy to see you practicing unity in diversity,” said Bishop Hiiboro on Sunday, January 10 on the Feast of Baptism of the Lord.

“The Church is more sensitive when talking to any political entities because she (the Church) is mother to all politicians and we respect all politicians in South Sudan,” Bishop Hiiboro expressed.

He said it is regrettable to see political leaders divided because the negative implications impact on innocent civilians. “As we begin this year 2021, the main focus, the main agenda for each individual South Sudanese and our communities should be hard work that would yield prosperity both on spiritual, social and environmental aspects of our lives.

He urged those who have been given chances to serve the nation in various capacities especial in the government offices based in Juba to be mindful of the special needs of the country that will enable South Sudanese people to live in peace and harmony. He encouraged them to work diligently for their country for the good of the people and for prosperity of the Republic of South Sudan.

During the same occasion, Bishop Eduardo urged the 150 Christians who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on the Lord’s Baptism Sunday to be great ambassadors of Christ Jesus because in the Sacrament of Confirmation, they received the power of the Holy spirit that will enables them to speak the truth and be hard working community members.
