Bishop Hiiboro Expresses Appreciation to Local Masons for Quality Construction at the Diocesan Eye Care Clinic at St. Theresa Nzara Hospital
His Lordship Barani Eduardo Hiiboro, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio on Monday, April 19, 2021, applauded the local construction workers who have been working at the diocesan modern eye clinic at St. Theresa Nzara hospital saying that they are doing a great job.
Bishop Hiiboro who had visited the facility to inspect the work progress said that the South Sudanese local workforce, especially in technical areas, is improving quite well. Acknowledging the tremendous work done by the local masons who have been constructing the Diocesan Eye Care Clinic, Bishop Hiiboro confessed that South Sudan local builders are capable and deserving to win more constructions work contracts within the diocese and beyond.
Bishop Hiiboro who was accompanied by a number of Diocesan Priests during the inspection of the construction workers found the worker who included some young mothers with their children tied on their backs busy carrying out their various activities with zeal and passion at the construction site.
Peter Santo, head of construction at the site in an interview with Rurugene Online News said that the 12 by 11 meters block is now at roofing level which should be completed in less than a week’s time. Once that is done, they will move to the finishing stage which includes fixing windows, doors, and painting. He added that since the work is being carried out by South Sudanese, they wish to leave a good impression in their work.
In February this year, Bishop Hiiboro commissioned the construction in a ceremony that was witnessed by a number of dignitaries as well as partners. During the event, he blessed and laid the foundation stone of the eye care clinic, an institution that is aimed at providing solutions to immerse the need of eye problems in the Western Equatoria State and in South Sudan at large.
