“The celebrations of Christmas, the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in 2021 should heal people of the painful experiences that occurred in Western Equatoria State where this diocese is located,” Bishop Hiiboro said while addressing both pastoral and social staff of the diocese upon his arrival from Nairobi on Thursday morning into the diocese.

He said that the unfortunate events which included armed conflict, loss of lives, destruction of properties, displacement of people, and bloodshed which engulfed some parts of the diocese made this year 2021 an extremely bad one because of what happened was against God’s will.

The Bishop explained that the unfortunate and uncalled-for incidences and experiences in 2021 dishonored the dignity of human persons who deserve total peace.

“To you, my dear Priests and staff of this Diocese, during this festive season go out and preach the peace

of Christ to all people because this is what you were assigned to do,” he said adding that “Jesus Christ did not choose the best place to be born in, but he was born in a needy place like ours because he is the prince of people and for all people who need him most, he added. We need to work to improve the lives of our people because South Sudan needs our work more.”

The Bishop was addressing his curia members as he come home from Nairobi where he went to take his last Corona Virus vaccine to complete the dose he got from Uganda. Bishop Hiiboro prayed and blessed all the members of the Curia as he was welcomed by the Vicar General Fr. Thomas Bagbiowia.
