Hundreds of Christians Receives Holy Sacraments at St. Justin Parish

By Kutiote James/Baraka John

Hundreds of Christians on Wednesday had received series of holy sacraments at St. Justin Paris Basukangbi payam under Nzara County for the first time since St. Justin was conformed as a Paris.

The holy sacraments included Holy Communion, sacrament of matrimony and confirmation.  His Lordship the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Tambura Yambio confirmed 95 children, 30 received first Holy Communion and 1 family received the sacrament of matrimony during the Eucharistic Celebration. Bishop Eduardo added that “the administration of this sacrament was also meant to strengthen the faith of people in this area”

In his Pastoral visit to St. Justin Basukangbi Catholic Parish, Bishop Hiiboro urged the faithful Christians to follow the footstep of their patron Saint who was the first to die for the truth. Upon the arrival of His Lordship, jubilation broke out at St. Justin Catholic Parish by the faithful to receive him since Late Titarani Bishop Joseph Gasi Abangite visited the land of Chief Basukangbi in 1983 till now.

Speaking to the multitudes, Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro applauded the faithful for the warmly reception for the Holy Sacraments especially the catechists who worked tirelessly to teach them.  He encouraged the Christians to pray for those whom God have called to live together in the holy matrimony, adding that although they are people who can commit mistakes but it gives mutual understanding and healing in the family life.

In the other hands, the couples vowed in front of the Bishop and the congregation to live together despite the challenges they will face in their lives but God will bind them in love forever.

St. Justin Catholic Parish is already having three projects; construction of the Parish house, Parish house for the Priest and Kindergarten and primary school where school children are using plastic sheets to protect them from rain and sun. The Bishop dedicated the school after his best friend naming at as Don Fernando Junior School Basukangbi.

Finally the Bishop thanked Fr. John who is the parish priest St. Justin Parish for his hard work.
