The Azande queen called upon the Azande people and different ethnic groups living within the kingdom to take the restoration of the kingdom as part of normal activities to embrace peace, unity, and diversity among the citizens of western Equatoria state and South Sudan at large.

Addressing the audience during the first anniversary, Queen Bisiwa Santina Atoroba Peni Rikikito Gbudue said, “we should take into our hearts the kingdom and return back the lost cultures.

She also encouraged the parents to educate their children to have good behaviors adding that men and women should support themselves in order to raise their children to become future leaders.

“We should teach our children to adopt the same culture of good dressing code so that they can become God’s fearing people in this kingdom, explained Bisiwa.

The Queen told the women to embark on farming for self-sustainability.

Thousands of people from different ethnic groups of Western Equatoria and other states in South Sudan including those from abroad gathered at the freedom square in Yambio to celebrate the first anniversary of the Zande kingdom that is restored after 117 years.
