Women in Tambura calls on the arms group to end suffering of people in the County
A group of women from Tambura County in Western Equatoria State is appealing to armed groups who are currently causing insecurity in the county to stop because their action is causing a lot of suffering to innocent civilians.
Speaking on behalf of her fellow women to Anisa radio, Susan Weka Matthew expressed that the most affected people by the conflict in Tombura are women and children. She thus called upon those who are escalating the conflict to stop and let people live in peace and harmony as they did previously.
Susan expressed that the kind of suffering that women and children are currently experiencing in Tombura is horrible especially for pregnant women, some of who are forced to give birth in the bush where they have taken refuge without any medical assistance.
Another woman going by the name Luwizia who also spoke said that she believes God will one day change the heart and life of those causing insecurity in the county and the Country at large.
“In the meantime we can only pray and hope that the conflict will be resolved soon so that life can become normal again.”
The women made the remarks during an exclusive interview with Anisa FM Radio at St. Mary Catholic Parish Tambura-Yambio.
