Bishop Hiiboro calls on Christians to live a life for a purpose just as God had a purpose for the creation of humanity.

His Lordship Bishop Edwardo Hiiboro Kussala has encouraged Christians to live a life for a purpose just as God had a purpose for the creation of humanity.

He made this call on Monday 15, August 2022 at St Mary Parish mother of God during of the celebration of feast of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The local ordinary said that it is of great importance to celebrate the Legion Mary’s feast in the catholic life because it encourages our devotion in God, and it reminds Christians that they are on a journey and as well as imitating the life of Mother Mary.

“This is a feast for us Christians and it encourages our devotion to God, it encourages our own faith, and it gives us the opportunity to look at ourselves, to see that we adoring and celebrating our God, we are at home with our God, we are doing what God calls us to do. Apart from the many responsibilities, at least this day reminds us that we are on a journey, and we are imitating Mary mother of God, because she was just like us, she was human and God has given her life I would like our life in this world to be for a purpose just as God had purpose for the creation of humanity, as at the end of our life we would like to have eternal life”. Bishop Hiiboro added.

Assumption Day commemorates the belief that when Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, died, her body was "assumed" into heaven to be reunited with her soul, instead of going through the natural process of physical decay upon death.

During the Eucharist Celebration the prelate who was the main celebrant congratulated the Legion Mary group for their great commitment to the work of God and imitating the life of Mary mother of God.

The Legion Mary’s of Saint Mary parish in the catholic diocese of Tambura Yambio celebrated their 100 year anniversary in evangelizing the word of God as well as imitating the life style of Mary mother of God.

He encouraged the men and children to join the group of Legion Mary so that they can grow spiritually and spreading the good news of God and learning how to help the poor and the needy as a way of preparing their lives to the kingdom of God.
