Bishop Edwardo Emphasizes Service as Seven Seminarians Become Deacons in CDTY

By Baraka

The Catholic Diocese of Tombura Yambio (CDTY) on Sunday has ordained seven seminarians into diaconate after the seminarians met the eligibilities that qualified them for the ordination.

The seven seminarians come from within the CDTY and from other catholic congregations outside South Sudan.

While addressing the newly ordained deacons and the novice, His Lordship Edwardo noted that the ministry of diaconates came as a result of responsibility, noting that, the importance of proclaiming the word of God was almost getting lower because of the need of servants.

“So, the diaconate was got to do service, work. It’s not for pride, not for anything not for the issue of pride but for service. Our Lord, our savior, and our lord Jesus Christ came to serve not to be served, meaning you have another responsibility to serve more”.

During this specious occasion, Postulant Hala Hussein Angelica of our Lady of Peace congregation made a step into being a novice in the hands of bishop Eduardo

“Today the 21st of April 2024 commit myself to be a novice in the congregation of the sisters of our lady of peace. By making this commitment I intend to begin living the in-depth spirituality which deals with inner self, inner attitude, inner transformation, and a general disposition towards goodness”, Hala vowed.
