“The 10th Anniversary of Bishop Gasi is a Moment of Contemplation”, Says Bishop Hiiboro

As the faithful of the Catholic Diocese of Tombura-Yambio (CDTY) prepares to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the late Bishop Joseph Gasi Abangite, Bishop Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala has called upon the faithful to use the platform to contemplate and seek for blessing of good deed in their lives.
While addressing Curia staff on Tuesday, Bishop Edwardo Hiiboro said upon his arrival from Juba that the 10th anniversary is a moment for the catholic faithful to reflect on their lives and remember the good deeds of the late Titarani Joseph Gasi Abangite while in our midst.
His Lordship Hiiboro described the month of September as a month of the family of the diocese where the faithful recall the memories of the first Bishop of the CDTY.
“The month of September is a special month, where we recall our great father our predecessor, and our leader who went back to God during this month and especially this week is a special moment for us and is a moment of contemplation, during these days we should reflect on the massages and the good things he did as a bishop and how we can continue to promote these,” Hiiboro said.
This year’s anniversary falls under the theme “Be Perfect, as Your Heavenly Father is Perfect.”
Bishop Joseph Abangite Gasi was born in January 1st 1928, ordained as a priest on 21st December 1957, appointed to be the Bishop of Tombura- Yambio on 12th December 1974, and installed as a Bishop on 6th April 1975 at the age of 47.
He retired as a bishop, on 19th April 2008 at the age of 80 and died on 13th September 2014.
