The King of the Azande Kingdom has said that Pope Francis’s visit to the youngest nation is a total blessing but the blessing will not be to all South Sudanese, but only those who are prepared in their hearts and forgive each other in order to live in peace for the development of the country.

Pope Francis will be joined by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, and the moderator of the Church of Scotland, he will visit first the Democratic Republic of Congo capital of Kinshasa on January 31, 2023, and then to South Sudan from February 3 - 5.

King Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue told Anisa Radio that the Azande Kingdom in the country welcomes the religious leaders and hopes for peace to prevail with the visit of His Holiness.

He added that the Pope's visit to Juba is a sign of peace, stressing that south Sudanese must stay in peace in their various territories even though some will not see the Holy father physically. “You will get blessings if you prepare your hearts, even if you don’t reach Juba, you can get blessings if you pray at home during the visit of pope Francis into our country you still get blessings,” king Atoroba narrated.

Pope Francis' visit to South Sudan will take two days. He is expected to at least visit 2,000 internally displaced persons and refugees from neighboring countries, the Catholic Church announced last week.
